Four Dead As Gunmen Invade Village In Taraba


Averagely four persons were feared dead with several shops and houses razed to the ground when gunmen invaded Dan-Anacha Village in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.

From a reliable source, we were told gunmen invaded the village at exactly 3pm on Friday, shooting and burning houses that caused the death of four persons.

Emeka, an igbo trader in that same environment testified on phone that his shop was burnt beyond recognition in the attack.

Emeka added that the gunmen operated for nearly three hours, burning over 100 houses and shops.

Hon. Jerry Tyolanga, a former Special Assistant to Governor Darius Ishaku, who’s an indigene of the village informed the journalists that several houses were burnt and property worth millions destroyed.

Mallam Tanko, a resident in the village told The PUNCH that many people who fled during the attack, took refuge in nearby Sabon-Gida and Tella communities.

He, however, added that vivid details concerning the attack were yet to be cleared.
